NEXO’s Newest Rig – NEXO Alpha+ system

There is a common misconception in modern festival production that achieving powerful, main-stage sound requires large flown line-array systems. This often means rigging points, structural engineers, increased crew costs, and a ballooning budget before a single note is played. Whilst this approach remains essential for large-scale events where vast audiences must be covered at high sound-pressure levels, it is not always the most efficient solution for smaller scenarios.

At Redstock 2026 in Somerset we set out to challenge that assumption and demonstrate that, with the right equipment, world-class festival audio can be delivered far more efficiently, achieving the impact, clarity, and coverage expected of a major festival stage without the complexity and cost traditionally associated with large flown systems.

Redstock is a fantastic local festival with great crowds, a brilliant organising team, and a stellar lineup of live bands. It also served as the official maiden voyage for Serenityaudio’s latest investment: the NEXO Alpha+ system. To say it made an impression is an understatement.

NEXO Alpha system

Power Without the Pomp

The NEXO Alpha+ is a legendary box for a reason, but it’s completely new to the market. In fact, there are only two of these complete systems in the entire UK, and Serenityaudio owns one of them.

Because the Alpha+ is designed to be ground-stacked, we were able to roll the system in, stack it, and have a heavy-hitting main stage footprint ready to rock without touching a single piece of rigging. For festival organisers, this completely eliminates the logistical headaches and safety-sign-off delays that usually come with flying a PA.

But eliminating the hassle doesn’t mean compromising on the sound.

Surprising the Crowd (and the Crew)

When you deploy a new system for the first time, you expect to spend the day fine-tuning. What we didn’t expect was just how jaw-droppingly massive the Alpha+ would sound right out of the gate.

From the first soundcheck, it caught everyone off guard. The sheer headroom and physical punch of the system took the entire Redstock team, and our own crew, by surprise. For the live bands on the bill, it provided the ultimate canvas:

  • Pristine Vocal Clarity: Even over a roaring festival crowd, the vocals cut through the mix with absolute precision; no harshness, just pure clarity.
  • The Perfect Mix: The definition in the mid-range and the tight, directional low-end meant every instrument had its own space. Whether it was a driving bassline or a subtle guitar solo, the mix stayed perfectly glued together across the entire field.

“We knew the Alpha+ was a special bit of kit when we acquired it, but hearing it handle a live festival crowd at Redstock was a different story. The sheer scale of the sound from a ground-stack setup was really incredible.”

Great Festivals Deserve Great Sound

Redstock 2026 was a masterclass in how community festival spirits can match big-budget production values. We want to say a massive thank you to the Redstock organisers and the incredible bands who made its first outing so memorable.

If you are planning a festival or outdoor event and want massive, uncompromising sound without the inflated rigging costs and structural headaches, you don’t need a generic line array. You just need the right kit.
